Man Now
I am a man now,
That’s what my Father said,
Not because of age,
Or where my shoes have tread.
I am a man because Dad said what he said,
He said because he means it,
Even if I don’t act it or feel it
.
Dad says: “Don’t lose track!
Our necks move side to side,
Not front to back”.
“Then what do I do”?
You are to be you,
Why? Because your meant to.
There is no one truer to you,
Than you are to you.
I love my dad and always will.
This is me, a man now,
Writing on my window sill.
