Item Bank Portal
For ALL In Learning
"Item Banks" are sets of questions that have been organized by publisher, grade, subject, and standard. It is incredibly tedious to sift through all those Items if the only way to view them is through a text-based design. To make it easier for the teacher and more visually elegant, we created "The Item Bank Portal".
In the design process, we wanted to create it with graphical and visual content in mind. We wanted to give teachers the ability to quickly view what Item bank content options they have, select the ones they want, and create a test or quiz for their students from that chosen content.
Phase One: Basic Design
First version of the Item "Tile"
-
The Idea was to have a base "Tile" with a few options and information so that we could show (graphically) what the item was. I created this in Illustrator.
Second version of the Item "Tile"
-
We decided that it needed to be a bit more low profile.
Basic Tile Logo
-
We needed a basic logo for the tiles that didn't already have publisher logos. I designed this one but went through a number of color and design iterations...
Using It
-
Once you find the Item (tile) that you want, click "View Items" and the questions will pop up...
Basic Info
-
Once you click "Create Assessment",
put in your assessment information...
Final Steps
-
After clicking the "Next" button, the system will take you to your our "Lesson Editor". Here you can create your test to suit your teaching needs.
phase 2:
Featured Content
In Phase 2, we added the ability to feature certain content. The goal was to be able to make the content that we wanted to sell more visible to the user.
An influencer to this idea was Amazon's "Recommended Deals" feature on their website.
First Mockup Design -
Basically, it is just a side-scrolling row of content that could be turned on based on the teacher's information and content preferences.
Featured Content Logos -
ALL In Learning has a created and published a large amount of content that is available to teachers on our site.
-
We wanted to feature them, but none of them had any visual definition. To remedy that, I designed a number of logos for different Items.
-
Here are a few of them and their various, in-process iterations...
